Earth Month 2010
Natural Luxe has partnered with Aveda to try and change this statistic. During the month of April, Aveda stores across the country will host special events to raise money for Global Greengrants and The Land Conservancy. All money raised will be used to protect our clean drinking water and promote water conservation.
At our local Aveda Lifestyle store, we have set up a display of eco-chic handbags, one of which will go home with a lucky raffle winner. It’s little steps that lead to bigger ones, we are priviledged to lend a hand in Aveda’s fundraising efforts. If you are in the Charlotte area please visit their store in the SouthPark Mall and spend a few dollars to support Earth Month 2010

Just in ~ new designs from Engage Green
Recycled PETE plastic handbags and wristlets from Engage Green were an instant hit at our store in Charlotte. As soon as we set up our display, customers had to touch the fabric to see what a recycled soda bottle feels like. The vibrant colors and patterns are eye-catching and a perfect addition to your spring wardrobe.

A few quick facts on recycling PETE [Polyethylene terephtalate] Plastic bottles –
* Approximate 18 used plastic bottles of 16 oz. make 1 yard of our fabric.
* 4,800 used plastic bottles of 16 oz. saves 1 cubic yard of the landfill.
* According to EPA recycling 1 pound of plastic containers [PETE] save approximately 12,000 Batu’s per yard.
